SUB: Jordan Bowery for Gabby Agbonlahor
Wigan 2-2 Villa – 75mins: Simon Dawkins has added an extra dimension to Villa’s play – he’s buzzing here there and everywhere and generally causing a real nuisance of himself. It’s there to be won by Lambert’s Lions. Can they do it?
Wigan 2-2 Villa – 60mins: What a strike from Ron Vlaar. Shades of Marco Van Basten as he turns on a sixpence before firing home. Superb finish from the skipper! In other news, Simon Dawkins has replaced Yacouba Sylla. Game opening up now.

Wigan 2-1 Villa – HT: Nathan Baker knows nothing about it at the end of the first half as the ball hits him and finds the net to give the Latics an interval lead. Darren Bent had given Villa the early advantage with a clinical finish from just outside the box before Emmerson Boyce levelled matters. Expect a fightback from Villa after the break.
GOAL: Wigan 2-1 Villa: Nathan Baker [og]
Wigan 1-1 Villa – 30mins: The Latics showing fight and spirit after a tough opening few minutes. They equalise via a header from Emmerson Boyce which gives Brad Guzan no chance but not before Stan Petrov is lauded with the 19th minute tribute.
GOAL: Wigan 1-1 Villa – Emmerson Boyce
Wigan 0-1 Villa – 15mins: Great start from Lambert’s Lions. They take the lead in the first few minutes, Darren Bent finishing with aplomb from just outside the box. They have passed the ball around supremely and look very confident. More to come we hope.
Andy Blair and Jack Woodward ready for kick-off at Wigan.
